I wrote some months ago about Satellite Direct. All has been quiet until today they sent me some junk mail, once again trying to sell some kind of extended warranty for SkyTV equipment.

The opening line of the letter says:
The initial manufacturer's warranty on your digital (Sky TV) system has now expired and this leaves you open to expensive call out charges and reapir costs should anything go wrong!

Same old tactics, the hard sell, fear, uncertainty and doubt. They can't possibly know the state of any warranty I may or may not have, they are simply "trying it on", as before when they contacted me by phone.

They obviously didn't quite remember to take me off their database. I phoned them up this morning to ask them (again) to take me off the database, which they said they will do, but I doubt they will.

What a great piece of software Google Earth is. I've just been killing an hour looking at places in Australia. If you paste in 25°20′43″S, 131°2′3″E, it will take you to Uluru (Ayer's Rock) in central Australia, absolutely beautiful.
